I need clarification on BC foals

Postby lakin » Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:43 am

What is birth capped? I have tried my best to understand what makes them so special, but I can't. None of the foals that I am looking trough are, in any way, common. My foals have darn near the same stats, if not the same, as these million dollar foals. Can someone lay out the answer for me? Apparently, I'm not getting it on my own.

Birthcapped foals are foals that are born with the highest possible stats for their breeds. The BC differs depending on the breed.

For example,

American QH BC: am/eg/am/eg (str/int/speed/sta)
Arabian BC: eg/eg/f/inc

There are BC lists in the Tips & Tricks section, and I know there's a wiki with the lists...I just can't remember the link right now.

BC foals are special because they're essentially the "best" foals of the breed to start out with.

Also, people sometimes look at the parents' stats/winnings/bloodlines/etc. That adds to the value of the foal. Particularly you want to make sure that the parents are at least statmaxxed.

Birth cap foals are born with the highest stats possible for their breed at birth. It makes them the best for rolling (because you can roll them higher) and the best for eventing, because higher stat titles raise faster. There's a list here: http://ebilmoose.com/vhr/wiki/pmwiki.ph ... rthCapList

I thought that it had something to do with the stats, but I didn't understand how. I'm still a little off with it, but I think I get what ya'll are saying.
