Hi All...

Hoping that someone out there might know the answer....


If I have a horse that is all pure except for 1 line....and that line goes back 6 generations ..... will it take another 6 generations before it will breed out of the horse??

At least that makes sense to me...but thought I would check and see if anyone else has come across such a thing.

If the horse isn't pure now, it won't be once you breed it another 6 generations. Because it will/can be traced back through the bloodlines.

If a horse isn't pure, it cannot be made pure.

Hmmmm...are you sure 7th?? The reason why I ask is because I have come across bloodlines in a horse before that weren't pure...but after so many generations of breeding, and as the generations move up...it no longer seems to show in the lines...but appears to be bred out instead. I have found that you seem to get a NO SUCH HORSE error.

Or is there a way to trace a horse all the way back to the very beginning of their lines? If so, other than going to "Bloodlines"...please share with us...I would like to trace further back in my lines.

Bloodlines are pretty much the only way to do it, unless you do it yourself. You can go back alot of generations back to the beginning of the line, i've done it, and its hell confusing. Takes forever if you want to do it with every horse, but it will show if you do it enough.

I think those gaps in the bloodlines are from the crappy horse purge where they all got deleted.

Swar- thats exactly it. It happens all the time. Thats why ppl dont like to release horses they retire them so they arent deleted. It doesnt happen on most horses.

Well you can't release (delete) horses of breeding age, so they obviously don't have offspring to trace.

And if you go back far enough, it goes to the (Unknown) foundation horses...you can't breed it out if they're not pure. Although, if you did seven more generations, they may not technically be pure but many would consider them pure.
