Breeding BC foals

Postby Lonewolf » Wed Jan 28, 2009 12:52 am

I'm trying to breed birth cap foals. I breed Arabians and Thoroughbreds. I thought I had to breed two adults that have the birth cap or higher as stats, so I bred a horse that had very good in strength with one that had extremely good in strength, and the foal only had good in strength. How do I breed bc foals?

first of all, if you want to breed thoroughbred BC foals ie, here is one of my TB studs as an example:

The best way to get BC is to roll the horses to the age of 18 atleast.

you should check this link out about breeding BC foals and rolling.

It is a guide made by mythara, so all credits goes to her :D
I am no longer able to play the game due to real life commitments. I would like to thank all my friends for the past 11 years on VHR. xx

Does it take a few turns for a stat to rol down 1%? I've been "treating injury" on one of my horses for three turns and the percentage is still the same. Is that normal?

On the lowest stat, it takes about 10 turns for it to change. On the highest stat about a year.

You need to breed two parents together, that have strength and intelligence rolled to atleast one above BC, Sometimes it needs to go higher than that. I usually do not roll speed or endurance at all, and for most horses they will still produce BC.

So for Arabs, parents need to be S/S for str and int. That might give you a few under bc I am not 100% since I usually have mine to F/F just because lol. You can also try a combo, like a mare who is Eg/Eg, bred to a stud who is Ex/Ex. The stud is so much higher than bc it will most likely produce BC foals with that mare. :)

Yep. I always roll strength and intel twice. If there's time after, I roll speed and endurance once (although normally, speed rolls during prepping, so I don't need to). :D
