Does downloading the free version of GIMP mess up comp?

Does downloading the free version of GIMP mess up comp?

I'm curious to know if anyone has had any problems with the art program GIMP. If it does anything to the computer after downloading it? Please let me know, before I download it. Thank you :D

As long as you use a reliable site - Like the GIMP website, it should be fine.
