Geldings on VHR

Ok, so I know the advantages of gelding a stallion in real life but what's the point in doing it on VHR? Thanks for answering!

People might geld stallions from their private lines to give as gifts. That way the bloodline can be preserved. I know I have sterilized a mare to give as a gift. I wanted the person to have a good horse from my bloodline but I didn't want them to breed that horse and "let my lines out," as they say.

It has no effect on competition or anything, though.
