Lol, another question, generations?

Hm, so, I've been getting some mixed answers from people as to how to classify generations, so hopefully I'll be able to get a more solid answer here..

Is a foundation reffered to as 'first generation', or is that a foundation x foundation?

I count Foundy x Foundy as first gen, first gen x first gen = second gen and so on, then foundy x third gen = fourth gen (always one more generation than the previous highest)

Ahh good question, it's the foundy x 4th gens (or more) that get me confused as to what they actually are.

Foundy x 4th gen = 5th gen
3rd gen x 8th gen = 9th gen

Basically, you take the highest generation parent, and the foal is the next gen. =)
