Just checking, I have read the copyright thread, but was just wanting to check before i do something stupid.

Can I use any photo/image that does not have a copyright mark or a persons name on it in my photo manips?

Let me know. As i said i am just looking for clarification.

Even if there is no mark on the pic, the pic may very well be copywrited

so if there is no copyright sign then is there anyway of telling if it is copyrighted?

Most pictures posted on the web are copyrighted through the website they are located on. The original website will usually say all content is copyrighted, so even if the photo isn't and the website you find it on isn't, chances are, they stole it as well. So your best bet is to use the royalty/copyright free sites.
