"Phala Fala" is another name for the large African bovide
known as the Sable Antelope. (Hippotragus niger). The Sable Antelope
is a striking, powerfully built antelope with massive, elegent horns. Males
and some old/dominant females become pure black and white. They are known
as a 'horse antelope', like their cousins Roan, Addax and Oryx, because their
body, especially their mane, looks so much like a horse! Sables are clever,
strong, agressive, fearless and beautiful!
